The Knights of the Rounds

The Knights of the Rounds (ナイトオブラウンズ, Naito Obu Raunzu) or formerly known as the 12 Horsemen is a unit of twelve elite soldiers in the Holy Empire of Britannia, each being assigned into the group by royalty and under direct command of theEmperor. The Knights of the Round extends to at least the 18th century, with the first Knight of One being Sir Richard Hector. Named after the Arthurian Knights of the Round Table, they operate outside the standard Britannian military and are given special privileges and authority.

Galahad

The Galahad (ギャラハッド Gyarahaddo), named after the Knight of the Round Table, is a Knightmare Frame piloted by the Knight of One, Bismarck Waldstein. Its armor is light purple and black; and its frame design is a variation of the Gawain's. The Galahad posesses many features similar to the original, such as built-in Land Spinners, hands that feature miniature Slash Harkens, as well as being twice the size of an ordinary Knightmare. It is equipped with energy shielding and carries a Maser Vibration Sword named Excalibur on its back, which is larger than the Knightmare itself. The sword's sheath has an additional Landspinner and serves as the Galahad's Float System. The Excalibur is strong enough to break through armor in a single swing, and is capable of generating an energy field that can block and slice through powerful energy blasts, such as those fromShenhu's Baryon Cannon. It is so powerful, in fact, that, when it is equipped on the Tristan Divider, one half of the original sword is capable of breaking through the Shinkirō's Absolute Defense Territory. The Galahad is destroyed by Suzaku's Lancelot Albion, after the remaining Knights of the Round attempt to removeLelouch from power. It is sliced in half along with the Excalibur. Although the Galahad is lost, the two halves of the sword land on the ground next to Gino Weinberg's damaged Tristan, and are salvaged for Gino's Tristan Divider.

Bismarck Waldstein

Bismarck Waldstein (ビスマルク・ヴァルトシュタイン, Bisumaruku Varutoshutain) is a man who bears the title of the Knight of One under Charles, the strongest amongst the Knights of the Round. He pilots the Knightmare Frame Galahad, and keeps his left eye sewn shut. Despite his status and combat abilities, he believes that war should be used as a last resort, and also sees strength without restraint as needless violence. He was previously the Knight of Five.

During the second battle of Tokyo, Bismarck leads the Britannian forces guarding the shore against Li Xingke's invasion force. Li and Bismarck battle, with Li unable to defeat him. Bismarck compliments Li's skill when he purposefully takes a hit to move into position to rescue the Chinese command vessel. During Schneizel's attempted coup d'état of Emperor Charles, he intervenes to stop Suzaku's assassination attempt on the Emperor. Suzaku's "live" command urges him to flee before they even begin fighting, indicating that Waldstein is extremely dangerous.

Nonette Enneagram

Nonette Enneagram (ノネット・エニアグラム, Nonetto Eniaguramu) a member of the Knights of the Round . She is the Knight of Nine. She attended military school with Second PrincessCornelia, who considers Nonette her senior. An upbeat and cheerful woman, she is one of the few people Cornelia actually fears. Her first and last names contain the Latin and Greek prefixes for 9, non- and ennea- respectively.Her last name is may also be a reference to the Enneagram of Personality. She first appears in the PSP/PS2 video game, Code Geass: Lost Colors and serve as some sort of mentor or older sister figure to theProtagonist if the player decide to choose the Britannian Military route, she is also always seen carrying a Pistol with her it is never shown that she have ever actually used it but given her military background she must have some proficiency with it. Out of all the Knights of the Round, she is the only one who has no speaking role in the anime and the only one seen without a Knightmare Frame of her own. It is unknown what happened to Nonette following Lelouch's ascention to the throne, as she does not reappear and is not referenced to either.

Dorothea Ernst

Dorothea Ernst (ドロテア・エルンスト, Dorotea Erunsuto) is a member of theKnights of the Round and is the Knight of Four. She is a dark-skinned, dark-haired woman who is described as being as heroic as Bismarck. She joins Bismark and the other Rounds members against Lelouch but is the first killed by Suzaku in the Lancelot Albion. She is never shown with a custom Knightmare, being killed while piloting a unshown Knightmare.

Monica Kruszewski

Monica Kruszewski (モニカ・クルシェフスキー , Monika Kurushefusukī) is a member of the Knights of the Round and is the Knight of Twelve; she is a gentle-looking woman with blonde hair whose appearance masks just how dangerous she can be. She is stationed aboard the Emperor's flagship, Great Britannia, and is implied that she leads the Emperor's Royal Guard. During the attack on Kaminejima, the Emperor leaves her to deal with Schneizel and the Black Knights. She is killed by Suzaku during an attempt to remove Lelouch from emperor throne, her last words was commenting on how powerful the Ninth generation Knightmare Frame and cursing Kururugi Suzaku's name. Though her unit is never explicitly shown, the interior of it's cockpit suggests that it could be a Vincent Commander Type like those used by the Royal Guard, or simply a standard unit with a modified cockpit.

Gino Weinberg

Gino Weinberg, 17 years old, is the Knight of Three in the Knights of the Round, a position he achieved through his incredible piloting skills.

Character OutlineEdit

Gino comes from a very rich upbringing, and as such doesn't quite understand how the real world works. However, his cheerfulness and friendly demeanor earns him many friends. Gino is good friends with Anya Alstreim and Suzaku Kururugi, but his friendship with Suzaku seems slightly one-sided. He pilots the transforming Knightmare Frame Tristan and is an accomplished Knightmare pilot.

According to the Knights of the Round-themed light novels, Gino fell in love with his family's Eleven maid when he was 14, not caring about racial or societal differences. When his parents learned of the relationship, his father beat the girl and threw her out into the streets. Both parents admonished Gino to act in a fashion more befitting his noble status. Two years later, Gino ran away from home and joined the military. The novels also state that he was named a Knight of the Round a mere five months before Suzaku, making him the second newest member.

Luciano Bradley

Luciano Bradley (ルキアーノ・ブラッドリー, Rukiāno Buraddorī) is the Knight of Ten and is known as the "Vampire of Britannia," A violent and confrontational man, he is fond of provoking others and attacking without provocation; several of the Knights of the Round appear to dislike him. He shows little care for the lives he ends, be they friend or foe, as long as he can cause destruction. In fact, he fights battles specifically because it allows him to freely kill people in public, even attempting to sacrifice his allies for his own goods. He claims to be a "homicide genius," and carries a number of large knives which he is adept at throwing. He is fiercely loyal to the Empire, but he does as he pleases most of the time, even around members of the Imperial family. He pilots the Knightmare Frame Percival.

Anya Alstreim

Anya Alstreim, (アーニャ・アールストレイム, Ānya Ārusutoreimu) is a fictional character in the Sunrise anime series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. She is voiced by Yūko Gotō, and in the english dub by Stephanie Sheh. She is the Knight of Six.Anya Alstreim is Knight of Six in the Knights of the Round and pilots the heavy assault Knightmare Frame,Mordred. She is a quiet and introverted person with a mysterious past and has a Britannian emblem tattooed on her left arm. She holds the distinction of being the youngest individual ever appointed to the Knights of the Round at the age of 15. She has little faith in her memory, so she maintains a log/blog which she frequently updates with pictures she takes with her camera-phone. As one of the younger members of the Knights of the Round, she is close friends with Suzaku Kururugi and Gino Weinberg. Suzaku's cat Arthur also takes a liking to her, though the cat seems to be more affectionate to everyone except Suzaku himself.

Euphemia li Britannia

Euphemia li Britannia (ユーフェミア・リ・ブリタニア, Yūfemia Ri Buritania), 16 years old, is the Third Princess of the Britannian Imperial Family, Euphemia is Lelouch Lamperouge's half-sister and the sister he cares most about after Nunnally. Euphemia is the Sub-Viceroy of Area 11, a role she admittedly does not enjoy. Euphemia admires her older sister, Cornelia, but despises all combat in general, though is capable of piloting a Knightmare Frame, as seen in the battle at the Empire's Shikine Island Base.

Though she is naive and innocent to a fault, with her ideals frequently conflict with reality, she remains kindhearted and open-minded to everyone around her and treats everyone with respect even if they are not Britannian. She is the second person in the Imperial Family to discover that Lelouch is alive and first to know his alter ego as Zero, having deduced it after the hotel hijacking incident. In childhood, she was quite close to Lelouch and Nunnally. She develops a close, romantic bond with Suzaku Kururugi because of their shared belief that a problem must be changed from within.

Shirley Fenette

Shirley was a cheery and upbeat student at Ashford Academy and a member of its student council. She was also in the school's swimming club. Shirley went out of her way to make others feel accepted, evident in her attempt to make friends with Suzaku Kururugi when he is first entered into Ashford Academy, despite most of the student body seeing him as a possibly dangerous Eleven. She even once invited Suzaku to go on a trip with her, which Suzaku declined because of military duties but was grateful for anyway. Shirley had a crush on Lelouch, though she disapproved of his gambling habits. As she was too shy to admit this, she would often becomes jealous when Lelouch seems to show interest in Kallen Kozuki, with whom Lelouch has a number of misinterpreted encounters. Shirley's crush for Lelouch is explained when she confronts Kallen in what she misunderstands as a romance between the two. Kallen dismisses Shirley's suspicions as false, and leaves a frustrated Shirley to Suzaku as he steps in. Shirley explains to Suzaku that she had developed feelings for Lelouch, after he calmly diffused a tense situation involving a car accident without speaking a word or seeking recognition afterward.

Rollo Lamperouge

Rollo adalah adik Lelouch di Code Geass R2. Sebenarnya dia seorang pembunuh yang ditugaskan untuk mengawasi dan membunuh Lelouch kalau-kalau Lelouch mendapatkan ingatannya kembali dan menjadi Zero untuk yang kedua kalinya. Tetapi karena Rollo merasakan kasih sayang keluarga dari Lelouch, dia lalu memihak Lelouch. Meskipun akhirnya Rollo mati karena terlalu banyak menggunakan Geassnya untuk melindungi Lelouch, Rollo tidak menyesal. dia senang bisa melakukan tindakan terakhirnya sebagai seorang manusia, bukan sebagai pembunuh.

Kesetiaan dan cintanya Rollo pada Lelouch tidak tanggung-tanggung. Dia membunuh semua musuh yang dianggapnya berbahaya, bahkan anak kecil sekalipun. meski dengan konsekuensi: Rollo yang semula memang pengganti Nunnaly, dia cemas jika seandainya Lelouch tidak menganggapnya adik lagi, lalu membunuh semua yang mencintai Lelouch, seperti Shirley (dia bahkan juga mencoba membunuh Nunnaly)

Kallen Stadtfeld/ Kouzuki Karen

Karen berdarah setengah Britannia dan setengah Jepang, namun bersikeras bahwa dia adalah orang Jepang karena Karen sangat membenci Britannia. Karen juga merupakan anggota The Order of the Black Knights dan tangan kanan Zero. Ia tidak mengetahui bahwa Lelouch yang merupakan teman sekelasnya adalah Zero yang sangat dihormatinya. Ibu tirinya dan ibu kandungnya hidup di rumah yang sama, ironisnya, ibu kandungnya bekerja di rumah Karen sebagai pembantu. Karen adalah pilot Knightmare Frame yang sangat handal. Ia mengemudikan Guren Nishiki dan seri ketika melawan Suzaku dengan Lancelot-nya.

Nunnally vi Britannia

Nama asli: Nunnally vi Britannia

Adik dari Lelouch sejak kematian ibunya ia mengalami trauma mental dan fisik yang cukup berat sampai-sampai ia menjadi buta. Sangat menghargai terhadap orang lain dan suka terhadap budaya jepang. Meskipun polos dan lucu, karakter ini adalah salah satu karakter kontoversial. Bahkan CLAMP membuat salah satu seri dari Code Geass. Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally yang menceritakan kegilaan Nunnally yang sangat membenci Britania sampai-sampai rela membunuh setiap orang Britania yang ditemuinya. Dalam seri ini ia juga mengendarai Knightmare Frames.

Suzaku Kururugi

Suzaku adalah sahabat Lelouch sejak kecil, dan juga anak mantan Perdana Menteri Jepang yang sebelumnya, Kururugi Genbu. Meski demikian, Suzaku memilih bergabung dengan pasukan Britannia. Ia memiliki Knightmare Frame buatan Llyod yang bernama Lancelot. Sempat memiliki perasaan khusus kepada Euphemia, Suzaku marah besar kepada Zero yang telah membunuh Euphemia. Belakangan diketahui bahwa Suzaku ternyata membunuh ayahnya sendiri karena sang ayah tidak mau berhenti melawan Britannia meski tidak ada kesempatan menang. Suzaku sangat syok ketika mengetahui bahwa Lelouch adalah Zero yang sangat dibencinya. Suzaku yang syok berat kemudian mengangkat pistolnya untuk menembak Lelouch.

Di Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, diketahui bahwa Suzaku berhasil menangkap Lelouch dan membawanya ke depan Kaisar Britannia. Suzaku kemudian meminta Kaisar untuk mengangkatnya sebagai anggota Knights of The Round karena telah berhasil membawa Zero. Perubahan sifat Suzaku amat kentara di R2, dia menjadi jarang tersenyum.

C.C

Dikenal sebagai Gray Witch

Gadis misterius berambut hijau yang memberikan kekuatan Geass pada Lelouch. C.C tampak seperti berusia 16 tahun, namun dia telah hidup sejak lama sekali. Nama aslinya hanya diketahui Lelouch. C.C juga mempunyai kemampuan penyembuhan yang luar biasa, bahkan bisa dibilang bahwa gadis ini immortal. Sepertinya dia tidak mau Lelouch mengetahui masa lalunya karena takut akan ditinggalkan Lelouch seperti orang-orang sebelumnya.

Pada akhirnya C.C bilang kepada Lelouch bahwa dia selalu sendiri, hidup terlalu lama dan sudah melupakan orang-orang yang mencintainya atau membencinya...dan bahwa dirinya adalah seorang penyihir. Lelouch berkata bahwa C.C tidak sendirian, dan apabila C.C adalah penyihir, maka dia adalah Raja Penyihir. C.C yang tersentuh dengan perkataan Lelouch akhirnya menyuruh Lelouch pergi sendiri untuk menyelamatkan Nunally yang diculik V.V. Sebelum Lelouch pergi, C.C menciumnya dan pergi melawan Jeremiah sendirian menggunakan Gawain yang sudah rusak lumayan parah. Pada akhirnya C.C dan Jeremiah tenggelam ke laut dan tidak diketahui nasibnya.
